I have been based in Frome, Somerset for over 30 years and enjoy a varied and active musical life as a piano soloist, accompanist, and ensemble musician. I hold an LTCL diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College London and perform regularly across a wide range of settings. Alongside performing, I am an experienced piano teacher, working with students of all ages and abilities – from complete beginners to advanced players beyond Grade 8. I tailor my teaching to each individual, helping students build confidence, strong technique, and a genuine enjoyment of music.
In addition to piano, I am an accomplished French horn player with extensive orchestral and chamber music experience, including solo concerto performances. While the French horn is my specialist instrument, I have experience teaching the full range of brass instruments with students achieving success on trumpet, cornet and trombone.
I am deeply committed to providing the highest quality teaching and continually developing my skills. I regularly take part in professional training, collaborate with fellow teachers, and observe lessons to stay inspired and informed. I am an active member of The Curious Piano Teachers and the European Piano Teachers’ Association (EPTA), ensuring my teaching remains fresh, thoughtful, and up to date.
I hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate through EPTA, which is available to view on request.
